Detail The days are free to further explore Tokyo’s sprawling metropolis independently.
As a premier cosmopolitan city, Tokyo offers incredible cuisine and a multitude of art and fashion venues.
For a different view of the city, take a stroll through beautiful Ueno Park and browse the fascinating collection of artifacts from across Asia.
Visit the Tokyo National Museum, which houses the collection. Perhaps join the optional Kamakura tour.
Take a trip to the historic city of Kamakura, home to shrines and Buddhist temples.
The city was once the capital of Japan and was founded in 1192 by the Minamoto clan.
The tour includes Hokoku-ji Temple, located on the hills to the east of Kamakura and ranked 5th among Kamakura’s 5 Zen temples.
A visit to Jomyoji Temple is included.
Continue to be one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks, Kotoku-in, home to the famous 43-foot-tall statue of the Great Buddha.

The entrance is dominated by a giant paper lantern dramatically painted in vivid red and black.
From souvenirs to authentic Edo-style crafts, stroll along Nakamise, a centuries-old shopping district
You can find everything. Next is Tokyo, a huge park with magnificent gardens, the residence of the Japanese Imperial Family.
Go to the Imperial Palace. Admire the famous Nijubashi Bridge leading to the main gate of the Imperial Palace.

Detail This morning, as left Tokyo and drove south to Japan’s most famous national park, Hakone,
Admire the breathtaking scenery along the way. Located on a hill and surrounded by majestic mountains and green valleys
Visit the Hakone Open-Air Museum, a 200-acre park.
Browse the museum’s vast collection of sculptures from the 19th and 20th centuries, including works by Japanese and Western artists.
After lunch, take a gondola ride on the Hakone Ropeway to the special volcanic area of Owakudani Valley.
The bubbling pool here cooks eggs in hot water that has turned black with sulfur, and is said to prolong their lifespan by at least seven years.
Enjoy a relaxing cruise on the calm Lake Ashinoko. Transfer to your hotel in the Hakone area.

Detail After breakfast, take the Shinkansen to Mishima Station, which was once the capital of the Japanese Empire and one of its most cherished treasures.
We will move on to historic Kyoto, a city where Japanese imperial life remains.
Upon arrival, take a short walking tour and free time for lunch before checking into your hotel.
The rest of the day is free time. You can join the optional half-day Kyoto tour.
Start with a visit to the famous Kinkakuji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Known as the “Golden Pavilion”, it is nestled in a reflecting pond surrounded by trees.
This temple was built by the Ashikaga clan in the 14th century. Next,Kyoto’s most famous geisha district
Stroll around Gion and see shops, restaurants and teahouses where geisha welcome you.
The tour concludes in Kawaramachi, the bustling heart of the city with shops, restaurants, bars and clubs.

Continue to Nara, the 8th-century imperial capital, a treasure trove of Japanese cultural heritage.
One of the largest wooden structures in the world and home to an impressive bronze statue of the Great Buddha, which stands over 50 feet tall.
Arrive at Todaiji Temple.
Then, visit Nara Park where you can see more than 1,000 tame deer roaming freely in a peaceful park.
